Our Story
Every great business begins with a vision. Ours was simple, combine deep expertise with a genuine commitment to helping people succeed. From our earliest days, we’ve believed that success isn’t just about the services we provide, but about the relationships we build along the way. We set out to be more than a business—we wanted to be a trusted partner, a problem solver, and a source of clarity when it’s needed most.
Over the years, that vision has shaped who we are today. Each project, challenge, and conversation has strengthened our belief that the best results come from listening closely, thinking creatively, and never losing sight of what truly matters. Our story is still being written and we can’t wait for you to be part of the next chapter.
R Jay Construction was started in 1989 by Rod and Barb as simply a general construction company, however over the years the company expanded its expertise into the areas of concrete and metal building construction.
In 2021, the company expanded it's footprint in arched wall manufacturing and construction through an acquisition of equipment.
The company has continued to steadily grow and Rod and Barb are proud of all they have accomplished. They are equally as excited about starting to transition the company to a second generation, in their son Brendan.
While Barb and Rod, continue to play an active role in the company, they also take a little more time to enjoy some of the fruits of their hard work, leaving more of the day to day to their son.
Brendan grew up surrounded by the business, learning its values and work ethic from an early age. What started as small tasks alongside family soon turned into a genuine passion for the industry and the people it serves.
Today, Brendan is looking to lead with the same dedication and integrity that shaped the company from the beginning. His journey from growing up in the business to taking it over, reflects both a respect for his parents and the company's traditions along with a drive to embrace new opportunities. Under his leadership, the business will continue to honor its roots while moving confidently into the future.

Brendan Martens
Project Manager
As Project Manager, Brendan oversees projects from start to finish, ensuring every detail is handled with care and precision. Having grown up in the business, he brings both hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the industry to his role. Brendan is known for his practical problem-solving, strong communication, and commitment to delivering quality results on time. His leadership keeps projects moving smoothly while maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence.
Barb Martens
Office Manager
As the company’s Office Manager, Barb Martens plays a key role in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. With a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills, she manages financial records, supports the team with essential administrative tasks, and ensures the business stays on track behind the scenes. Barb’s reliability and dedication make her an invaluable part of the company’s success.
